'Wake' a Ukrainian sleeping beauty with a kiss and you must marry her

In the Ukraine, they've figured out a crafty way to get men excited enough to visit a museum. Real-life sleeping beauties are awaiting kisses from male suitors at the National Art Museum of Ukraine, but there's just one hitch: The participants must get hitched if she opens her eyes while receiving a smooch. The five ladies who will lie "sleeping" for three days each have a signed contract obligating her to marry the person who wakes her with a kiss. Prospective princes must be over 18, unmarried and have a sincere desire to tie the knot. I have my doubts about this whole exercise. To begin with who wants to kiss some chick thats just been snogged by a hundred other guys. Secondly if these girls are prepared to marry a guy they have never laid eyes then they are either insane or desperate (probably both). I get a feeling some lawyer is going to make a killing out of this getting all these contracts annulled.

The women were chosen earlier this month to each lie sleeping for three days as part of an installation in the National Art Museum of Ukraine. As they sleep, men survey and kiss the women, trying to wake them.

If the sleeping beauties open their eyes, both man and woman are contractually obliged to tie the knot.

"Everybody, any viewer, will have to sign the contract, which says if –this is very important, because nobody has to – 'if I kiss the beauty and she opens her eyes while being kissed, I marry her'," said Ukrainian-Canadian artist Taras Polataiko, who organised the exhibit.

Requirements for the princes and princesses are the same: they must be over 18 years old, they should not be married, and they are required to have a serious intention and sincere desire to get married.
