If you havn't been to the Food Market on a Saturday at the Old Biscuit Mill do yourself a favour and go!

The Neighbourgoods Market is an independent initiative founded in 2006 by entrepreneurs Justin Rhodes and Cameron Munro, whose aim is to revive and reinvent the Public Market as a civic institution.

This award-winning market features over 100 specialty traders every Saturday, creating a weekly platform for local farmers, fine-food purveyors, organic merchants, bakers and distributors, grocers, mongers, butchers, artisan producers, celebrated local chefs, and micro enterprises. The Neighbourgoods Market is housed in an old sky-lit Victorian warehouse and courtyard at the Old Biscuit Mill in the emerging industrial neighbourhood of Woodstock, Cape Town.It is as much a source for farm fresh as well as organic foods and locally produced specialty goods, as it is a meeting point to enjoy community, swap ideas and stories, and become educated about what we buy and eat by going directly to the source. The Neighbourgoods Market has been created along ethical, eco-friendly and organic lines, to offer a wide range of products from the extended community of Cape Town.

In conjunction with a local recycling organization and the Eco-Lids initiative, the Neighbourgoods Market now features a full-service recycling depot where all market waste is sorted and collected. Members of the local community and market-goers can also bring down their recyclable materials from home for disposal. In addition to these measures, all Neighbourgoods traders are encouraged to use biodegradable packaging products from Green Home, a Cape Town based company specializing in corn-based compost friendly containers.

Enjoy live musical performances or bring a vinyl record to play at our Bring and Play station. Sit at the big tables and enjoy your eats and drinks.
