South African Couple Travel 100 kms with Spitting Cobra

Gordon Parratt, 69, felt a 33-inch long snake wind itself around his leg while he was driving. Then he kept hearing all this hacking and spitting and each time he and his wife looked at each other to see who cleared their throat and spit.

At first he thought an insect had brushed his leg and he swiped it away. Then he felt something bigger and tried to recall if he had taken a Viagra pill the night before.

When he finally felt something bigger moving, he looked down and saw the snake next to his left foot, the report said.

"Fortunately I'm not the panicky type. My wife immediately put her feet up on the dashboard and shat her shorts," said Parratt.

The Pretoria couple made several stops for the wife to run to the bathroom and to remove the snake but could not find it, until it wrapped itself around Parratt's leg again.

"Its head came up to my knee," he said.

Finally the couple managed to call a snake expert to remove the cobra and stopped at a WalMart for more clothes, the report said.
