Help my husband wants to have sex eight times a day

I came across a rather amusing letter published in The Mirror. A rather desperate woman has written in looking for advice because her husband is accustomed to having sex eight times a day and she is concerned that if she says no to him he will look elsewhere.

Letter reads:

Dear Coleen,

My husband has an enormous sex drive and can want it up to eight times in 24 hours (one weekend we made love 36 times).

I’m 47 and, although fit for my age, this level of activity is killing me!

My husband is slightly younger than me at 45, but is insatiable.

Our love-making is fantastic and he is a good attentive lover.

I don’t want to upset him or have him look elsewhere if I start saying no. Help!

and Coleen responds:

Coleen says...

God love you! I don’t think you’re being unreasonable by saying you can’t keep up with him.

He could actually have a sex addiction problem, but he doesn’t see it because he’s enjoying himself.

Don’t be held to ransom out of fear he’ll leave you and look for sex elsewhere.

Unless you’re a robot, 36 times a weekend is going to finish you off – you won’t have time to do anything else!

And rather than being enjoyable, it’ll just become a chore, leading to all sorts of problems in your relationship.

You must be honest with him.

Tell him you love him and love having sex with him, but having it so often has meant any intimacy and meaning is being lost.

The bottom line is, if it’s a problem for you, it’s a problem.

It’s OK to say no and if he can’t accept that then you may have to accept the two of you aren’t compatible sexually.

I can only presume from Coleens letter that both her and her husband are unemployed since they seem to have a lot of spare time on their hands.
