There are some rather amusing news headlines making the rounds this morning.  Amongst others we have a man in Maryland who was attacked by an owl, a man who tried to enter Spain illegally disguised as a car seat, and a school website which encourages children to experiment with sex and vegetables. Always good to get the weekend off to a good start with a laugh.

A jogger in Maryland reported being attacked by an owl while out running at night. Sounds amusing but I guess if it happened to me I wouldn't find it funny. Not really much you can do other than to stay inside at night or alternatively take a tennis racquet with you if you do venture outdoors at night. Click HERE to find out more.

It had been widely reported in the news that there would be a shortage of bacon. Turns out this is all nonsense. It all began, strangely enough, with a press release from an obscure foreign trade association. The National Pig Association of the United Kingdom wanted British customers to feel OK about the idea of paying a higher retail price for pork products.Click HERE to find out more.

I thought this showed some original thought. The Telegraph reports that an illegal immigrant tried to get into Spain sitting inside a car seat under a passenger sitting on top of him. A police spokesman described the attempt to fool them as "novel."Click HERE to find out more.

This is really strange. The Toronto Sun reports that a High School website has provided instructions for children to experiment sexually with vegetables. Naturally this has infuriated a few Christian groups. The article contains some pretty graphic stuff but my favourite line reads

"sometimes the best sex is with yourself!”“There are lots of safe and fun ways to get off, which you probably won’t learn in school ... don’t feel like you have to do everything on this page, but don’t feel like anything is automatically off limits either.” Click HERE to find out more.

Reuters reports that police have arrested an Arizona man who filmed his 16-year-old nephew walking city streets dressed in a sheet and carrying a fake grenade launcher in an apparent bid to test police responses after the Denver theater shooting. Talk about having a death wish! Click HERE to find out more.
