Really cool movie scenes with kick ass soundtracks
My top five movies all have one thing in common and that is absolutely awesome soundtracks and awesome endings. Music can make or break any movie and these movies would be nothing without these cool soundtracks. There are so many movies with cool soundtracks so I have just named a few of my favourites.
1. Fight Club
"You've met me at a very strange time in my life" is probably the understatement of the century in this classic end scene from the Fight Club. This film has a great cast, a great plot and a great soundtrack. What more is there to say?
2. The Thomas Crown Affair
The unbelievably cool and stylish climax of the 1999 remake. If you haven't seen it before, it does give away the ending though. The soundtrack "Sinnerman" by Nina Simone is quite possibly my favourite piece of music. Possibly one of the best "chase" sequences ever written into a film. This is a seriously cool film.
3. A River Runs Through It
I love reading Norman Macleans books. People all take different things out of his books but for me I think the lesson to be learnt is that it is the people that you love the most that you will not understand. This film will move people for years to come. Redford's narrative is amazing to hear and the background music is great.
4. Cruel intentions
OK this is a bit of a teen movie but having said that if you have ever been the victim of a meddling interfering psycho woman who interferes in your life then you cant help but identify with this movie. Its got a killer soundtrack and its great to see the psycho exposed.
5. The Big Blue
The Big Blue is something of a cult movie and it has one of the best soundtracks around. The film was made by French director Luc Besson. The film stars Jean-Marc Barr, Rosanna Arquette, Jean Reno and depicts a fictionalized account of the sporting rivalry between two famed free divers. What very few people know is that Luc Besson was initially unsure of whom to cast in the main role of Jacques Mayol. He initially offered the role to Christopher Lambert and Mickey Rourke and even considered himself for the role until someone suggested Jean-Marc Barr.
6. The Breakfast Club
Quite possibly the best 80s movie. Anyone growing up in the eighties will identify with at least one of the characters in this movie.
