Beer Can Chicken

This recipe is completely off the wall and loads of fun. Your mates will think you are smoking rocks when they you do this but they will be blown away by how scrumptious this tastes when you have finished.

All you need is:

  • A whole chicken
  • A can of beer
  • A Weber or other type of kettle braai

All you need to do is get your braai going in your weber. Open the can of beer and have a quick sip (because you can). Insert the can of beer into the chickens cavity and then stand the chicken on the braai grid. The difficult part is to make sure the chicken remains standing upright and doesn’t fall over. Put the lid back on the weber and braai for about an hour until cooked. Then carefully remove the beer can from the chicken (remember that the beer can will be very hot as will any remaining liquid in the can).

The chicken will taste absolutely fabulous as the flavour of the beer will have infused itself into the chicken. This simple recipe is loads and loads of fun and will guarantee that your mates will be talking about your braai for years to come.
