ANC remind Buthelezi of the dream that is a better life for all

Buthelezi, who made a career out of dreaming while others were fighting for freedom, said South Africa would be a much better place if everybody put their feet up, shut their eyes and spent the best part of the day in La-La Land.
When asked to explain further he was quick to stress that ‘La-La Land’ was neither a modern day homeland nor an administrative position in the heart of the Ulundi bureaucracy. Instead he said it was a place where dreams could come true.
“People say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one,” said Buthelezi, who added that he hoped one day other South African’s would join him so that they could all live as one.
A spokesperson for Buthelezi, Gatcha Back-Cuvid said that the octogenarian leader’s plea had been made after the IFP conducted extensive research on the topic in the foyer of Durban’s Elangeni hotel.
“On a basic level all South Africans appear to share the dream of television without Noleen,” he said.
However he was quick to suggest that despite the purity of the dream that it might not be enough to hold the nation together in darker times.
Meanwhile a spokesperson for the ANC, Chimera Weaver took time out from the ANC’s 100th birthday celebrations in Bloemfontein to suggest that Buthelezi didn’t know what he was talking about.
“A significant majority of the population have already bought into the dream of ‘a better life for all’,” he said.
“Not many of them will get to live the dream,” he added, “But then that’s the point of dreaming isn’t it?” he added.
Weaver said he wasn’t sure what Buthelezi’s proposed dream would involve but he said it seemed like the journeyman politician was finally starting to get the hang of things, even if it was somewhat late in the day.
“Dreams spell hope, hope translates into votes, and votes mean money and cars for the folk who created the dreams in the first place,” he said.
“If you see the wonder of the fairytale, you can take the future even if you fail,” he said with a wink before acknowledging that he may have stumbled onto a perfect slogan for the next election.
