Football fans invade London dressed as smurfs

An amusing story in The Telegraph this morning describes how a group of Hartlepool United fans have become an overnight global internet sensation after they descended on London dressed as smurfs to cheer on their team. The 171-strong army of football supporters painted their faces blue and donned blue jumpers and white overalls, beards and hats in homage to the cartoon characters and their team’s strip.
